GT-802 - Send Ethernet over Fiber

Our GT-802 Gigabit Media Converter allows you to send your Ethernet Cat5 network over Fiber. Ethernet over Cat5/6 copper cables is known as 10/100/1000Base-T and this converter supports 1000Base-SX/LX for fiber.

Sending the Ethernet or IP signal over fiber allows you to go a lot farther then the 330 feet limitation of an Ethernet over Cat5/6 network. For instance, you can go up to 220 meters (660 feet) on 1000Base-SX and 550 meters (1650 feet) on 1000Base-LX.

Note: you need one at each end of the fiber to convert to/from RJ45.
