Audio and Video Baluns allow you to use inexpensive Cat5e or Cat6 cable to send audio and video signals. The advantage is that a "balanced" signal is sent over the Cat5/Cat6 cable and thus is able to reject radio frequency interference a lot better than regular coaxial cable.
