M14 4-Pin Mini Din to M12 4-Pin Aviation Adapter Cable
This is a Custom Adapter Cable that is about 6-8 inches long; select the gender for each connector and let us know the pin-assignment. This adapter cable allows you to convert an M14 4-Pin Mini DIN connector to an M12 4-Pin Aviation Connector. The M14/M12 connector allows you to screw-in the male/female connectors, which reduces the possibility of the connectors becoming lose when used in mobile video application.
The M14 and M12 connectors are also known as GX14, MX14, GX12 and MX12 connectors. They are available with 2 or more pins using different type of configurations. These connectors have thread and a nut that allow you to screw-on the connectors for a tight fit.
The custom adapter cable has an M14 connector with a 4-Pin Mini DIN connector on one side and an M12 4-Pin Aviation connector on the other side. The inside-diameter of the threaded M14 connector is 14mm and is typically used in mobile video applications on many cameras, such as some Safety Vision cameras, which have a male 4-pin Mini DIN connector on the cable coming from the camera; thus you may need to order the M14 with the female 4-pin Mini DIN to connect to the male 4-Pin Mini DIN on the cable from the camera.
The inside-diameter of the thread on the M12 male 4-Pin Aviation connector is 12mm and is used on many different mobile video cameras and monitors. Monitors with an M12, GX12, or MX12 connector usually have a cable with a male 4-Pin Aviation connector; thus you would need a female 4-Pin Aviation connector on the adapter cable to connect to the cable on the camera-side.
Note: since manufacturers have not standardized on which pins to use to carry the video, audio, power and ground signals, you have to let us know how you want this cable wired. See the table below and select how you want each pin wired, based on the pin-assignment on the video below.
Please use the table below and select the corresponding signal (Video, Audio, Power, Ground, Not used) for each of the pins, based on the pin-number assignment the video above. Pin 5 on the 4-Pin Mini DIN is reserved for Ground.
Once you have the pinout that you require, take a picture of it or print and email it to admin@svideo.com with your custom order. Note, if you refresh this page, all the selections will be erased.
Before you order, make sure you check the gender of the connectors you need on each side.
Some cameras have a cable with an M14 connector and a Male 4-pin Mini DIN, thus you will need to order the M14 female 4-pin Mini DIN that has the threaded connector to connect to the cable from the camera.
Some cameras have a cable with an M12 connectorwith a nut and a female 4-Pin Aviation connector and you will need the male 4-pin Aviation connector that has the threaded connector for the camera-side connection. To connect to the monitor side, which has a male 4-pin Aviation connector, you would need to order the adapter with a female 4-Pin Aviation connector.
